Description

Bridge Cottage is a former public house, now a private dwelling, dating from the early 18th century, with alterations in the 19th century. The building is constructed of knapped flint and banded stone walls, which are rendered. It has a double Roman-tile roof with stone gable copings and moulded kneelers. There's a rendered stack on the south gable, and a rebuilt 20th-century brick stack on the north gable. The cottage is two storeys and has attics, with a central gabled two-storey porch. It has three windows, which are sash windows with thin glazing bars. The first-floor porch window has a moulded cornice above it. A mid-19th century front door is located on the right-hand side of the porch and has six rib panels, sheltered by a 20th-century wooden canopy. The rear wall features canted bay windows with casement windows and glazing bars, along with window shutters.
