Description

No 524 is a late 18th-century cottage that is part of a terrace of three cottages, along with Nos 522 and 523. The building features plastered walls sitting on a brick and stone base, topped with a thatched roof and a brick chimney stack. It has a mix of single-storey and attic spaces. The east gable wall has been rebuilt using modern brick. The ground floor includes a part-glazed ledged door and a blocked doorway, along with three casement windows that have glazing bars. The attic contains one half-dormer with similar casement windows. Inside, there are some exposed ceiling beams. This cottage likely represents an encroachment on common land.
