Description
This is a continuous range of farm buildings dating from the 18th century, located 10 metres south of South Dibberford Farmhouse. The buildings feature dressed and rubble-stone walls set on a chert rubble base, with hipped thatch roofs at varying ridge heights.
The cart-shed has an opening in the north gable end and includes stairs on the side wall leading to a loft above. The stables contain a granary oven and are two storeys high, with windows on either side of a stable door, all featuring wooden lintels. There is also a loft door above. The beams in this area are slightly chamfered with run-out stops, and the stall compartments and mangers remain intact.
The cow-stall, which is structurally divided from the stables, is open to the loft and has a wooden shuttered window to the right of the door. The plank door has been remade in the 20th century. The barn returns to create an enclosure, with barn doors that oppose each other, made of planks and secured with strap-hinges, lacking loops. The roof of the barn is constructed with collar beams and features two sets of through-purlins.
