Description

Farmhouse, dating from the early 17th century with later 17th-century additions. It is constructed of rubble-stone and dressed stone walls, and has a thatched roof, hipped on the left-hand side and gabled on the right-hand side, with stone gable copings. The ridge of the roof slopes higher towards the right-hand end. Brick stacks are located on the left-hand ridge and the right-hand gable end. The farmhouse is two storeys high (of differing heights), and contains approximately five windows with 3- and 4-light stone mullions, hollow-chamfered, and each with a separate label above. The two right-hand end windows feature 3- and 4-light mullions with ovolo mouldings, also with separate labels above. The windows have iron casements with leaded lights. There are two doorways, one on the left-hand side with a plank door, and another on the right-hand side, also with a plank door and a single light. There are breeze-block porches. An outshut is located to the south, featuring a continuous catslide roof. The south gable wall has a 2-light and a single-light stone mullioned window.

Inside, the interior features deep-chamfered, compartmented ceiling beams. There are two plank-and-muntin screens, with straight-chamfered muntins. Two fireplaces have been altered. A depressed-arch stone fireplace with slightly chamfered jambs is located at the upper end of the house. A stone spiral stair is situated beside this fireplace. Upstairs, there is a stone fireplace with a depressed-arch head and pyramid-stopped jambs.
