Description

Cross House is a detached house, likely dating from the mid-18th century, and altered in the 19th century. It has rubble stone walls, a slate roof with bracketed eaves and ornamental bargeboards, and brick end stacks. The house is two storeys high. A ledged door is set within a 20th-century gabled timber porch. On the ground floor, there are two casements with a central glazing bar, each set beneath a segmental arch. The first floor has three similar casements, but without arches. Inside, the right-hand ground floor room contains a large open fireplace with a timber lintel, partially built up. A spiral stair adjoins this room. Iron front boundary railings with hooped tops are present, along with ornamental finials at mid-height.
