Description

A pair of semi-detached cottages, likely dating from the early 19th century. The cottages are constructed of rubble stone walls with slate roofs, featuring coped gables, brick end stacks, and a central stack. They stand at a right angle to the road. The cottage to the right, known as Guyers Cottage, was largely rebuilt behind its original facade in the late 20th century. Guyers Cottage has a panelled door set within a flat stone surround. The ground floor features two casement windows with glazing bars, set in similar surrounds. The first floor has three windows, also with glazing bars in similar surrounds. Guyers Cottage has a 20th-century panelled door within a flat-roofed, open timber porch. The ground floor contains one casement window with glazing bars in a flat stone surround, alongside a 20th-century casement window. The first floor has two casement windows with glazing bars in flat stone surrounds, and one 20th-century casement. The roof at the rear slopes down as a catslide over an extension; the extension to Guyers Cottage is a 20th-century rebuilding with a flat roof.
