Description
Number 97 and Tenniels Cottage is a house that has been converted into two cottages. It dates from the 17th century, with a 19th-century addition to the east and various alterations from the 19th and 20th centuries. The building is constructed of coursed rubble with brick facing, and some timber framing is concealed. It features a shingle roof with gable ends and brick stacks at the ends of the original range. The structure is two storeys high and has a four-window range, with 19th-century wooden casements and 20th-century aluminium casements. There is a 20th-century lean-to porch on the right side and a gabled wing at the rear, along with a lean-to on the left. Inside, there is a fireplace with continuously chamfered jambs and a cambered bressummer, deep stopped chamfered ceiling beams, and a moulded plank and muntin partition with a three-plank door that has original hinges.
