Description

Barton House is a house that may have origins in the 17th century or earlier, but it was enlarged and extensively altered in the 20th century. The building features coursed rubble, timber framing, and render, topped with a thatched, half-hipped roof that has rendered stacks, possibly at the ends of an original range. It has a picturesque, 'half-timbered' restoration style. The house is single storey with an attic and has asymmetric fenestration. Throughout the building, there are 20th-century wooden mullioned casements with diamond leaded-lights, as well as wooden lintels. There are five dormers of various sizes, two of which are jettied.
