Description

Red Lion House is an early 19th-century former inn located on the north side of Newton, Sturminster Newton. It is rendered with a gabled tile roof and rendered end stacks, with a third stack positioned approximately three-quarters of the way along from the right gable, seemingly indicating the original range’s end. A single-storey outshut is attached to the right. The building is two storeys high with a four-window front. All windows, except those in the outshut, are set beneath segmental arches. The ground floor windows are 20th-century three-light casements with glazing bars. The upper floor has matching two-light casements. The entrance door has a 20th-century flat hood. The building is included on the list for its group value.
