Description
North Bridge is a multi-span bridge that crosses the River Piddle or Trent in Wareham. It has medieval origins, with additions made around 1670, and was widened in 1846. The bridge is constructed from squared and coursed stone.
The structure features three arches; the northern arch is pointed and likely dates back to the medieval period, while the central and southern arches are segmental and date from around 1670. There are two deep cutwaters on the upstream side, which include refuges above them. The modern parapets have been designed to match the original materials and style of the bridge.
