Description

The retaining wall of St Martin's Churchyard extends from No 42 North Street to the Lord Nelson Public House. This structure dates from the 18th or 19th century and is made of Purbeck rubble, topped with iron railings. The pavement behind the wall, stretching from No 42 to St Martin's Church, is likely 18th century and consists of Purbeck stone setts. The retaining wall, St Martin's Church, the Lord Nelson Public House, and No 54 together form a cohesive group.
