Description
Hodges Monument is a table-tomb located 6 metres east of the chancel of the Church of St Mary in Batcombe, dating from the mid-18th century. It is made of stone and features one fielded-panel on each side, along with fielded-panel pilasters. The tomb has a hipped top block and a moulded cornice. The inscriptions commemorate Kemey, the wife of Jonathan Hodges, who died on May 27, 1759, at the age of 54, and Jonathan Hodges, who died on October 1, 1770.
