Description

BEAMINSTER PARNHAM ST 40 SE 4/128 The Lodge, 300 metres south-east of Parnham House - II

Lodge, on main axis of house, now private house. c.1905 (Sauer). Lias ashlar walls. Lias clay tile, roof with a stone gable-coping. 2 stone stacks with moulded cornices, at ridge, and, on west gable wall. South elevation: 2 storeys, 3 windows. Left hand bay projects and has a gable over with Nash-style finial. Canted bay, with stone mullion windows with 4-centred heads. Bay 2: front door with 4-centred head and moulded jambs. Label over. 2-light stone mullion window over. Bay 3: 5-light stone mullion window with continuous label over. Clasping gate-pier at south east corner of house with a fielded panel on each face and ball-finial on top.
