Description
The pillbox located east of Knoll House Hotel is a Grade II listed structure made of reinforced concrete and concrete blocks. It is built into the east-facing slope that rises from the beach. The walls and flat roof consist of reinforced concrete blocks, with a solid concrete roof, while the interior is lined with breeze blocks. The pillbox has a basic square shape, featuring a three-sided front face that includes a large east-facing embrasure designed for a medium machine gun. Additional embrasures are present on the adjacent sides, and the rear wall has a central doorway.
