Description
Beach Cottage is a detached cottage dating from the late 18th century to the early 19th century. It features plastered cob walls and a thatched roof that is hipped at the left end. The cottage has one brick chimney stack at the right end and another near the center. It is one storey high with an attic. The entrance includes a part-glazed ledged door that is sheltered by a timber gabled hood. The ground floor has four casement windows with glazing bars, while the attic contains three half-dormers, each with similar casements. There are single-storey lean-to extensions at each end of the cottage. Inside, some ceiling beams are exposed. Beach Cottage is a property of the National Trust and is referenced as RCHM Monument 15 in Dorset Volume II.
