Description

The Yews is a detached house, built in the later 18th century with an addition to the east added in the mid 19th century. The house is constructed of brick walls in a Flemish bond pattern, featuring vitrified headers, a plat band, and a dentil brick cornice. It has clay tile roofs with stone gable copings and level kneelers, with brick stacks at the left and right gables; the right stack has an inner coping.

The facade is two storeys high and originally had three windows, with a further three windows in the east wing. The windows are sash windows with glazing bars, set within rubbed brick arches. The front door is centrally located and features a six-panel door, a semi-circular fanlight with radiating glazing bars, and a porch supported by wooden columns with Roman Doric capitals and an entablature. The 19th-century addition has two-light and one three-light casement windows with glazing bars. A continuous outshut runs along the rear of the house.
