Description
Failte is a former pair of cottages that have been combined into one building, dating from the mid-19th century. The structure features rubble-stone walls and a central buttress with three set-offs. It has a clay-tile roof with stone gable copings and a central stack that has a moulded cornice. The building is 1½ storeys high and has two windows, which are 2-light cast-iron casements with a lozenge pattern of iron glazing bars, framed by square stone architraves. Above, there are two gabled dormers with cast-iron casements that match the design of the windows. Each gable end of the cottage has a gabled porch entrance with straight-chamfered doorways. The north porch features a 19th-century plank-and-muntin door, while the south porch has a 20th-century glazed door. The 20th-century additions at the rear of Failte are not considered of special interest.
