Description
West Manor is a former wing of the Manor House, now a separate dwelling, built in 1901. It features squared coursed stone with ashlar dressings and a roof made of tile and stone slate. Designed in the 16th century vernacular revival style, it has two main rooms on the double-gabled garden front and a staircase at the back.
The building is two storeys high with three windows, all of which are recessed ovolo-mould mullion casements with labels, matching the main building. The full-height symmetrical canted bays have hipped stone slate roofs, with a central two-light window on the first floor above a wide door flanked by side-lights. The haunched gables have flat centres with saddle-back copings. The left return features two- and three-light casements, along with a glazed door under a glazed conservatory to the right. Another door is set back to the left, and there is a central eaves stack on both the left and right returns. The rear of the building has twin gables and a central two-light window on the first floor.
Inside, the property retains stone fire surrounds and original details, including a straight-flight staircase. The wing appears to have been added in the very early 20th century, coinciding with extensive modifications to the original Manor House.
