Description
Crown Farm House is a detached house, formerly known as the Crown Inn, with an integral outbuilding on the right. It likely dates from the late 17th century. The walls of the house are constructed of flint with brick banding, while the outbuilding is made of cob on a flint base. The property features a hipped thatched roof and is one storey with an attic. It has an L-shaped plan with a rear wing at the left end. The front range includes a cross-passage that separates the house from the outbuilding, characteristic of a long-house type. There is a ledged door in a tiled gabled porch and a second ledged door leading into the outbuilding. The ground floor has one casement window with glazing bars, one with a centre bar, and two small plain casements. The attic contains one dormer with casements featuring a centre bar, and there is a larger dormer in the outbuilding. The left gable wall is buttressed, and some ceiling beams are stop-chamfered.
