Description

The terrace at 19-25 Bell Street is likely from the 18th century, and represents a group of traditional Purbeck cottages. The buildings are constructed with walls and roofs of Purbeck stone. They are one storey high with attics, and feature brick stacks. Each cottage has a ledged door and a double-hung sash window on the ground floor. The windows at numbers 23 and 25 retain their original glazing bars, while the window at number 21 has been replaced with a modern window. Flat-roofed dormers provide access to the attics, each with a casement window. A small window is situated under the eaves of number 23. A single-storey stone outbuilding, also constructed of Purbeck stone with a stone roof, adjoins the road and is associated with number 25.
