Description
This is a terrace of three cottages located on The Lane in Corfe Castle. They were built in 1862, as indicated by a date stone on the end gable. The cottages are constructed of coursed rubble stone with stone slate roofs. They feature brick stacks on the ridge, with each stack having three diagonally-set shafts and oversailing caps. The buildings are one storey high with attics. Each cottage has a gabled porch with a ledged door set within a pointed arch. On the ground floor, each has two casement windows with cast iron lattice glazing. Two gabled dormers are visible in the attic, each with matching casement windows. These cottages represent a good, unspoiled example of estate cottages.
