Description
Nos 5 and 9 on St Mary Well Street are a house and an attached cottage, dating from the 17th century and 20th century. They feature lias rubble walls and a slate roof with a gable end on the right side, along with a tile ridge. The building has two storeys and includes approximately five windows, which are three-light wooden casements with glazing bars, wooden cills, and lintels. There are signs of a blocked, wider stone mullion window. No 9 has 20th-century wooden casements. The front door of No 5 is centrally located and features 17th-century stone-moulded jambs with a Tudor-arch head and a raised, returned label above. The door itself is a wooden plank with thin studded muntins from the 20th century. The door to No 9 is located on the left side and is a 20th-century wooden door with one long glass panel.
