Description
The Eight Bells Inn is a public house that dates back to the 17th century, with later additions from the 19th century. It features coursed lias stone walls and a slate roof, which has a gable end on the left and is hipped on the right. There are brick stacks located at the left gable and right eaves. The building has two storeys and three windows, each with three-light stone mullions that have an ovolo profile and separate labels. The windows are fitted with iron casements that include an opening centre light. On the south side wall, there are stone mullions with one, two, and three lights from the 17th century. To the left on the ground floor, there is a straight bay window with a four-light stone mullion that has a cavetto profile and is topped with a hipped slate roof, dating from the 19th century. The front doorway features moulded jambs and a square head, with a wooden door that has thin muntins, which is from the 20th century.
