Description

Russet Cottage is a late 18th-century cottage located on Scotchy Lane in Stour Provost. It is constructed of rubble walls and has a thatched, gable-ended roof. Brick stacks are situated at the ends of the original section of the building. The cottage has two storeys and originally featured an irregular two-window arrangement with a central door. It incorporates two-light casement windows with glazing bars. A tiled extension has been added to the left side. The cottage is documented in the Royal Commission on Historical Monuments, Dorset, volume IV, page 82, entry number 26.
