Description
The Crown Inn is a public house located on Church Street in Puncknowle, dating from the 18th century. It features rubble-stone walls and a thatched roof with gable ends. There are brick stacks positioned to the left and right of the center, as well as at the right-hand gable. The building is two storeys high and has wooden casement windows with two and three lights, some of which include glazing bars, with one window featuring marginal glazing bars at the center. The wooden cills and lintels are characteristic of the period.
The doors include a plank door with thin muntins to the left of center, dating from the 20th century, and a plank door with glass lights to the right of center, also from the 20th century. The left end of the premises is set back and constructed with the same materials, featuring a brick stack at the left-hand party wall. This section is 1½ storeys tall and has two wooden casement windows with glazing bars and concrete lintels, along with a plank door with one light on the right side, which dates from the 19th century.
