Description
No 2 Cornmarket is a late 18th-century building, possibly of earlier origin. It features rendered walls and a slate roof, and stands two storeys tall. The ground floor has a central door with a simple classical surround and a pedimented hood. To the left of the door is a double-hung sash window with glazing bars, while to the right is a three-light double-hung sash window with glazing bars, which is likely a later addition. There is a plat band at the first floor level, which has three double-hung sash windows with glazing bars. To the left of the main building, a passage leads to the rear. The room above this passage, now part of No 2, shares a similar character to No 1 and dates from the earlier 18th century. It has rendered walls, a tiled roof with a stone eaves course, a brick dentil course at the eaves, a brick stack, and a Venetian window with glazing bars.
