Description

This is a road bridge located approximately 250 meters north-east of Pump Cottage in West Orchard Village. It was built in the late 18th century or early 19th century and is constructed from greensand ashlar. The bridge features four arches, with the outer arches being semi-circular and the inner arches being segmental. There is a single pointed cutwater on both the upstream and downstream sides. The parapets have rounded capping. A plaque is installed to warn drivers of traction engines that the bridge cannot support excessive weight.
