Description
Long Ash Farm House is a farmhouse that likely dates from the late 18th century. The walls are made of flint with some brick banding, and there are stone quoins, some of which have been replaced with brick. The house features a hipped thatched roof and has two brick stacks on the ridge. Originally, the house has an L-shaped plan, with a later rear wing added to the right end. It is two storeys high with an attic.
At the angle of the wings, there is a brick porch that has a hipped slate roof supported by timber posts, and it features a six-panel door. The left end wing has a ground floor window with mullions and transoms, which includes lead lights, and a first-floor casement window also with lead lights. In the main range, the ground floor has two 20th-century casement windows. The first floor features one similar casement and another with cast iron glazing. The attic contains a hipped dormer with casements that have lead lights.
At the right end of the house, there is a lean-to made of flint and brick with a slate roof. The later rear wing has flint walls with brick dressings and a slate roof, and the section closest to the main house is two storeys high. Beyond this is an attached single-storey farm building with plain ledged doors and timber windows.
