Description

A detached cottage dating from around 1780. The walls are of plastered cob construction, with a hipped thatched roof and brick end stacks. The building is two storeys high. A ledged door with a glass panel provides access. On the ground floor are two cross-pattern windows with lead lights. The first floor has three casements, also with lead lights. Number 57 was formerly the Village Bank. Recorded as Monument 7 in the Royal Commission on Historical Monuments, Dorset, Volume III.
