Description

Cross Cottage is a single cottage dating from the mid-18th century. It is constructed of stone walls which have been rendered, with a slate roof of shallow pitch, hipped at one end. There is a large brick stack on the ridge, to the left of the centre, and a smaller brick stack inserted at the right-hand eaves. The cottage has a lobby entrance plan with a doorcase stair situated between the fireplaces and the front door. It is two storeys high with four windows, each containing wooden 3-light casements with glazing bars. A plank door is located to the left of the centre, below the main stack, and is sheltered by a small canopy. The interior features two back-to-back fireplaces and a bread oven. It also has plank doors and a panelled doorcase stair.
