Description

This is a terrace of similar cottages, likely dating from the early 19th century. The buildings are constructed of Purbeck stone with slate roofs and brick chimney stacks. They are two storeys in height. Each house features an entrance door, originally ledged and now in some cases replaced with modern doors, and a double-hung sash window on both the ground and first floors. The cottages at numbers 233, 235, and 239 retain their original glazing bars. A terrace with ornamental iron railings sits in front of the first four houses in the terrace, which marks the end of a group of houses located on a raised terrace.
