Description

The property is a 15th-century farmhouse with alterations and additions dating to the 16th century and later. It is constructed of coursed rubble walls with a thatched, gable-ended roof. The building is approximately four windows wide and has mostly 2-light casement windows with full or horizontal glazing bars. A 20th-century door is present. Internal features, as recorded by the Royal Commission on Historical Monuments, include remains of an arch-braced, probably cruck-truss roof with wind-braced purlins and evidence of smoke blackening. There is also a 16th-century floor supported by intersecting, slightly hollow-chamfered beams. The property is documented in the Royal Commission on Historical Monuments, Dorset, volume IV, page 46, number 4.
