Description
The Village Hall and former School in Hinton Martell is a late 19th-century building that originally served as a school and schoolhouse. It is now a home and village hall. The structure features Flemish bond brickwork and has a tiled roof with a brick stack located near the center. It is a symmetrical, single-storey building with three bays. The windows have four-centred gauged brick heads made of light-colored brickwork and are fitted with casements that include glazing bars. There are porches symmetrically placed at either end of the building, each with plank doors. This building is historically significant as one of the few remaining rural Shaftesbury Schools.
