Description
Brook House is a detached house located on Bridport Road, built in the 18th century with 20th-century additions. The house features red brick and rendered walls, with rusticated stone quoins on the gable end facing the road. It has a stone modillion cornice and a square brick stack set in from the hip apex. The south elevation consists of two storeys and attics, with three windows that are renewed 3-light wooden casements featuring glazing bars. There are flared stone lintel blocks above the projecting stone keys. A 20th-century ground floor room extension is made of red brick and includes large windows. The hipped slate roof covers the main structure, while a three-bay wing at the north end has rendered walls and a slate roof, with sash windows that also have glazing bars. Attached to the road are railings with urn finials at the main divisions, which stand on a stone sleeper wall.
