Description

Grove House is a late 18th-century detached house that once belonged to Richard Roberts, a tile mill owner. The house is constructed of coursed rubble stone walls with a thatched roof, featuring stone gable copings and moulded kneelers. Brick stacks are located at each gable end. The two storeys and attic spaces contain five windows, each a sash with glazing bars, set within flush wooden frames and wooden sills. The windows are topped with stone arch-voussoirs. A blocked window is present on the upper storey, in bay two. The centre contains a front door, flush-panelled with ribs and two upper lights, dating to the early 19th century. The front garden is enclosed by attached rubble-stone walls, with stone gate piers that have low pyramidal caps topped with ball finials.
