Description
Barnsley Farmhouse is a building that likely dates from the 18th century. It features brick walls, with part of the rear being tile-hung, and has a brick dentil cornice at the eaves. The roof is tiled, and there are brick stacks present. A brick parapet is located on the north gable. The farmhouse is two storeys high with attics and has a cellar beneath the south end. There is a slate-roofed lean-to extension at the north end.
The ground floor includes two part-glazed doors and four mullioned and transomed windows with casements that have glazing bars, which may have replaced original lead lights. The first floor has five similar windows and one blocked window, along with a plat band at the first-floor level. The attic features three hipped dormers with casements that have horizontal glazing bars. The main room on the ground floor has a large fireplace, which has been partially built up.
