Description

58 Mallams is a small house located in a row, dating from the late 18th century or early 19th century. It features large squared coursed blocks with a pecked surface and an asbestos-cement slate roof. The building stands three storeys high with a single window on each floor, all fitted with 4-pane horned sashes set into wooden cills. To the left, there is a stone gabled porch with solid cheeks that leads to a well-crafted 19th-century four-panel door. The left side has a raised verge, and there is a brick chimney stack on a stone base at the right ridge. This house likely underwent a refenestration, suggesting that the current front may have replaced an earlier design, and the ground-floor window was originally wider than it is now.
