Description
The Church of St Peter is a late 15th and early 16th century building that was restored in 1897 and later. It has a rectangular shape with north and south aisles and a clerestory. The west tower features a projecting west porch, and there is a crypt. The north aisle, which faces High Street, has an attractive pierced and castellated parapet. The church is part of a group that includes the Town Hall, The Mitre Inn, and Nos 25 to 31 (odd).
