Description

Black Lion Cottage is an 18th-century building, although it may incorporate an earlier core, evidenced by deeds dating back to 1649. The north front is of red brick with some burnt headers, featuring a single window and a porch with a lean-to slate roof, which contains a wooden boarded door. The south front is two storeys and has an attic, with a plain tile roof and two gabled dormers. It has three windows set in reveals and is constructed of stone rubble. An addition is visible at the right-hand end. Inside, a staircase has a fielded panelled dado, and ceiling beams are present.
