Description
The Tithe Barn, located approximately 100 meters south of Hinton St Mary Manor House, is a building likely dating from the 15th century. It was converted into a theatre between 1929 and 1939. The structure features rubble and ashlar walls topped with a gable-ended, tiled roof. On the north side, there are two transeptal entrance bays. The roof has been significantly restored and consists of collar-braced trusses supported by vertical wall posts on stone corbels, with wind-braced purlins. Inside, there is a lateral inserted stone fireplace that includes a 15th-century carved stone panel featuring three squares with sub-cusped quatrefoils and carved bosses.
