Description
Burt's Farmhouse is a 17th-century house located in Hinton St Mary. It features walls made of coursed, squared rubble and ashlar, and has a gable-ended thatched roof with brick stacks at each end. The building is laid out in an L-plan and has two storeys with a three-window range. The windows are three-light casements with glazing bars set under wooden lintels. There is a part-glazed door from the 20th century. The rear wing includes some casements with leaded lights and a three-light stone mullioned window on the ground floor to the right. Inside, notable features include an open fireplace with a chamfered bressummer, moulded ceiling beams, and stair handrails with baluster-profiled slats.
