Description
This is an early to mid-18th century farmhouse, situated in Hinton St Mary village. It is constructed of ashlar stone with a slate roof, featuring end stacks made of brick. The house presents a symmetrical facade with five bays, exhibiting sash windows with glazing bars, each framed by architraves and keystones. A plat band runs horizontally, and the eaves feature a coved cornice. The front door is recessed within an architrave, also with a keystone and a broken segmental pediment supported by consoles, and incorporates a double panel door with fielded panels. Internal features, as recorded by the Royal Commission on Historical Monuments, include a staircase balustrade composed of Tuscan columns, with newel posts formed from three conjoined, vase-shaped balusters. A ground floor room showcases two tiers of fielded, bolection-moulded panelling. The front garden is enclosed by brick walls.
