Description
Middle House is a 17th-century building located on Castleton Road. It features a stone front with three windows and stands two storeys tall with attics. The roof is partly covered with stone slate and includes two hipped dormers with lead glazing. The windows are mullioned and made of stone. The doorway, which dates from the 18th century, has a segmental pediment supported by brackets and decorated with rosette ornamentation. Middle House is adjacent to Lattice House and is part of a group that includes the Church of St Mary Magdalene, churchyard walls, piers and gates, the garden wall and piers to Lattice House, and Raleigh Lodge, all of which are located near the entrance to Sherborne Castle in Sherborne Rural District.
