Description

Lower Town Bridge is a road bridge located 250 metres to the south-west of the Red Store, over a tributary to the River Lerryn. It was built in the 19th century, likely after 1856, using rubblestone. The bridge features a single round-headed arch with rubble voussoirs and a keystone on the north side. Notably, it does not have parapets. It is possibly attributed to Parkyn, who was responsible for laying out gardens and regatta buildings on the south side of the river. The dating information is sourced from the County bridge record.
