Description
Roskilly is a detached house built around the 1830s, with a mid-18th century wing at the rear. The main structure is made of stuccoed stone and features a hipped scantle slate roof with deep eaves, along with brick stacks at the hipped ends. The 18th-century wing has a rubble stone base and cob upper walls, also topped with a hipped slate roof. The house has an L-shaped plan and is two storeys high, with a symmetrical front that has three windows. The ground floor features two 12-pane sash windows without horns, while the upper floor has three similar windows. A central 19th-century panelled door with a fanlight and intersecting glazing bars is set under a four-centred arch. Inside, the main reception rooms boast fine plasterwork cornices decorated with egg and dart motifs, key patterns, and grapes in the dining room. There are moulded doorcases throughout, and an original open string staircase with a moulded rail and square balusters.
