Description
Rosuick Farmhouse is a Grade II listed building that may have originally been three cottages, converted into a farmhouse. It dates from the late 17th century, with later remodeling around the mid-19th century. The structure is built of stone rubble, with some cob in the upper walls, and features brick segmental arches on the first floor. The exterior is clad in creeper, and the roof is made of cement washed scantle slate, with brick chimneys at the gable ends and one to the left of center on the ridge.
The farmhouse has been altered to create a plan that is one room deep and consists of three cells with a wide hallway, along with an extended converted wing at the rear. It stands two storeys high and has a regular four-window front. The windows include tall two-light casements and a two-light horizontal sliding sash to the left of a 20th-century timber door, which is sheltered by a flat porch supported by two posts. There is also a two-light horizontal sliding sash to the right. On the first floor, there are four horizontal sliding sashes, all fitted with glazing bars. The left-hand end of the building has a rounded corner.
At the rear, there are two three-light and one four-light timber mullioned window, all featuring ovolo mouldings on the ground floor. An early timber door on the ground floor at the rear may have been brought from an earlier building. Inside, there are two 17th-century three-panelled doors with HL hinges, one of which leads to the roof on the left side and has an ovolo moulded doorcase with pyramid stops.
