Description
Tregidden Cottage is a small house dating from the early 19th century. It is constructed of mixed rubble with dressed granite quoins and jambs on the ground floor, while the upper part is rendered and painted cob. The building features slate sills and shallow brick arches, topped by a dry Delabole slate roof with brick chimneys at the gable ends.
The cottage has a two-room plan with a central cross passage that leads to the stairs, along with a later lean-to added at the left end. The nearly symmetrical south front has two windows and a central doorway. The original six-panel door has flush beaded bottom panels and is sheltered by an open gabled porch with rubble side walls. The original windows are 16-pane hornless sashes.
The interior has not been inspected. Tregidden Cottage is part of a group of unspoiled 19th-century buildings in the hamlet of Tregidden.
