Description
This is a reset headstone from 1788, located in a bank 1 metre to the north of the nave of the Church of St Julitta. It commemorates Grace Penfound Hocken and Elizabeth Hocken, who were the daughter of Richard and Mary Hocken and the granddaughter of John and Grace Slogget. Grace Penfound Hocken died in 1778 at the age of 1, and Elizabeth Hocken died at the age of 2. The headstone is made of slate and features a nowy shaped head, with inscriptions in upper and lower case lettering that includes serifs.
