Group of 5 Tombchests of Elizabeth Pearce, William Fillis Pearce, Margaret Pearce, Richard and Mary Smith and John - 4-8 Metres to South of Porch of Church of St Julitta

This is a group of five tombchests located 4 to 8 metres south of the porch of the Church of St Julitta. They date from 1759 to 1862.

The first tombchest is for Elizabeth Pearce, who died in 1798, and also commemorates Edward Pearce (1802) and Mary Pearce (1803). It is made of stone rubble with a slate lid and features inscriptions in upper and lower case lettering with serifs.

The second tombchest belongs to William Fillis Pearce of Tremeddan, Liskeard, who died in 1862, and Susanna Pearce (1888). This chest is constructed of brick with a slate lid and has a granite kerb surrounded by iron railings.

The third tombchest is for Margaret Pearce, daughter of Edward and Honour Pearce, who died in 1759, as well as Honor Pearce, wife of Edward Pearce, and Edward Pearce Gent (1810). This chest has been removed, leaving only a thick lid with a granite moulded edge and a slate ledgerstone, inscribed in upper and lower case lettering with serifs.

The fourth tombchest commemorates Richard and Mary Smith of Fenterwanson, who died in 1799 and 1803, along with their sons Richard (1780), John (1787), and Thomas (1812). This is a stone rubble chest with a slate lid, also inscribed in upper and lower case lettering with serifs.

The final tombchest is for John, who died in 1814. It is made of stone rubble with a slate lid and features an inscription in upper and lower case lettering with serifs, though part of the inscription is illegible.
