Description

The stables, located approximately 15 metres north-west of Penwarne House, date from the mid-19th century. They are constructed from granite and elvan rubble, featuring granite dressings and a scantle slate roof with gable ends. The building has a small rectangular plan, which originally may have accommodated three standings; currently, there is one standing at the right-hand end, complete with a small ventilator window at the rear.

The exterior is a single storey with a symmetrical front that has two windows and a central doorway. The doorway features a 20th-century ledged door, while the windows are 20th-century six-pane casements, all set within original lintelled openings. Inside, the stables have a simple layout with painted walls, the original roof structure, a cobbled floor, and a wooden stall partition.
